The Scottish Executive Environment and Rural Affairs Department (SEERAD) conducts a survey on the number of hatching eggs and chicks.

The survey consists of a sample of eight hatcheries in Scotland.

It is carried out monthly and the results are used in the calculation of Scottish Agriculture Output, Input and Income Statistics.
