The Scottish Executive Justice Department conducts a survey on recorded crimes and offences involving firearms from all eight Scottish police forces.

Data cover Scotland and are available at police force area and local authority area levels. Data are available on the number of firearms offences, types of firearms used, location of use, etc.

The survey is carried out quarterly and the main results are published in the September following the calendar year end.
