The Department for Transport (DfT) compiles The International Road Haulage Survey. The Survey covers about 80 international road hauliers a week. Data are available on the origin, destination, weight and commodity of every consignment together with details of the sea crossings used.

Data cover the United Kingdom and are available by country of origin and destination for Wales and Scotland and regions of England.

It is a continuous survey carried out at weekly intervals and analysed on an annual basis. Main annual results are available five months after the end of the year.
