SEERAD conducts a survey on farm incomes. The survey gives the latest financial results involving the collection of around 550 accounts representing all the main types of full-time farming in Scotland.
The survey is carried out every financial year. It is the direct descendant of the `Investigation of the Profitableness of Farming in Scotland' which was set up in 1928-29.
The results of the survey are published annually, usually around eight months after the reference period.
