The latest national statistics on retail sales produced by the Office for National Statistics were released on 20 November according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.
This is a monthly release. The latest data relate to October 2008.

Three-monthly growth in sales volume fell by 0.7 per cent for predominantly food stores. In predominantly non-food stores sales showed no growth. Sales in the non-store retailing and repair sector rose by 4.0 per cent
