This report presents the findings of a survey of psychiatric morbidity among adults aged 16 to 74 living in private households in Great Britain. The survey, carried out between March and September 2000, was commissioned by the Department of Health, the Scottish Executive and the National Assembly for Wales. It is one of a series of surveys of different population groups which began in 1993.
It describes the prevalence of a range of mental disorders, including personality disorder, in the general household population. It also considers the changing prevalence of some of these disorders since the 1993 survey.
