Presents the findings of a survey of student achievement among 15-year-olds enrolled in schools in Northern Ireland.
The survey is part of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). PISA is a collaborative study among the member countries of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The survey assessed student achievement in three areas of literacy: reading, mathematics and science. Reading literacy was the main focus in PISA 2000. The survey in Northern Ireland was carried out in March 2000.
