The data tables on Internet Access show information about both households with home access to the Internet and individuals' use of the Internet. The National Statistics Omnibus Survey is the source for data on households and individuals. Prior to May 2005, household data was provided by the Expenditure and Food Survey (April 2001 to February 2005), and the Family Expenditure Survey (July 1999 to March 2001).
The National Statistics Omnibus Survey is carried out by interviewing a nationally representative sample of households in the United Kingdom. About 2000 households in Great Britain provide information periodically about Internet access and also individuals' use of the Internet and other Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).
