Summary description:
The survey of the mental health of children and adolescents in England and Wales was carried out on behalf of the Department of Health, the Scottish Health Executive and the National Assembly for Wales. The primary purpose of the survey was to produce prevalence rates of the three main childhood mental disorders: conduct disorder, hyperactivity and emotional disorders (and their comorbidity). The second aim of the survey was to determine the impact and burden of children’s mental health problems in terms of social impairment and adverse consequences for others. The third main purpose of the survey was to examine the use of services.
In addition to the Full Report there is also a Summary Report available.
