		Life expectancy at birth for wards in England and Wales (experimental) Product   Life expectancy at birth figures have been calculated for wards in England and Wales based on deaths from 1999-2003. Results are available for persons for all wards. Figures have also been produced for males and females where sex-specific ward-level populations were big enough to allow the calculation of sufficiently robust results. A report accompanies these results which includes notes on the data they are based on, their calculation and interpretation. Results for Local Authorities (LAs) and Government Office Regions (GORs) are also provided for comparison purposes. These figures are being released as experimental statistics as this is the first time that ONS has tested methods for producing life expectancy results for areas smaller than local authorities.
