Government Statistical Service (GSS)

Open any newspaper on any day of the week and you are likely to find several articles quoting figures compiled by GSS statisticians.

The Government Statistical Service is the UK's largest provider of statisticians, with over 1000 professionals in more than 30 departments and agencies, making valued input to every major government activity.

There are 3 ways to join:

• Fast Stream Assistant Statistician (AS)
• Statistical Officer (STO)
• Temporary Statistical Officer (TSO)

You'll need an appreciation of statistics, the drive and determination to train as a professional statistician, and a desire to make a career in statistics.

Applications from candidates whose degrees contain formal statistical training are particularly welcome.
