Pension Trends provides a statistical backdrop for the debate on pensions. It looks at changes in pension provision over time in the context of social and economic developments and changes in the policy environment.
Pension Trends was first released as a hardcopy publication in 2005. Updated chapters are published on the website. They include additional topical analysis where relevant, and new chapters on emerging areas of interest. Key chapters are updated annually, with others appearing less frequently.
Pension Trends contains chapters on pensions legislation and reforms; the ageing population and the transition from work to retirement; state pensions; private pensions, including membership of pension schemes, pension contributions and scheme funding and investment; saving for retirement; pensioner income (from pensions and other sources) and expenditure; and pensions in the National Accounts.
