Review of ONS Pension Contributions Statistics
ONS published the findings of a review of it's pension contribution statistics on 10 October. The report supports the sources currently used while suggesting ways in which they can be improved further.
The review, commissioned by National Statistician Len Cook, was asked to address:
- What pension contribution statistics are needed and the best available sources;
- The quality of existing data sources; and
- How the data should be presented
Highlighted in the report was a need for better information on the distribution of pension contributions by type of contributor where information from household surveys is not sufficient to meet emerging policy needs.
