Key Statistics for wards and Output Areas in England and Wales
Release of Key Statistics for Wards and Output Areas throughout England and Wales on 30 June provides the first opportunity to see and analyse 2001 Census results at the most local levels. The release takes three forms.
A report: Key Statistics for wards in England and Wales
The report, which is the second part of the Key Statistics for Local Authorities released on 13 February [more details....], was laid before Parliament on 30 June. It is a CD (ISBN 0116216638 price £25) on the lines of the one issued as part of the National Report on 7 May [more details...],and contains information for wards throughout England and Wales, with software to view and download.
The third part of the report, to be published later, will provide Key Statistics for Parishes in England and Communities in Wales. In the meantime a look up table of Parishes/Communities by Output Area will be available from Census Customer Services to allow users to prepare their own figures.
Neighbourhood Statistics
Key Statistics for all Output Areas, wards and local authorities together with comparative figures for Government Office Regions, Wales, and England and Wales as a whole are now available from Neighbourhood Statistics HERE. The information is available as counts or percentages down to ward level and there are summary profiles for wards. Information for Output Areas is as counts only.
DVD Versions
DVD versions containing Key Statistics for all Output Areas, wards and local authorities in England and Wales, together with comparative figures for Government Office Regions, Wales, and England and Wales as a whole will be supplied from 30 June to meet existing and new orders. The DVDs are available in either SuperTABLE or CSV format.
In contrast to the release of the National Report on 7 May [more details....] when copies on CD were sent to all local authorities and to other key customers, the DVDs are supplied on request only. Details of the order service are HERE.
Users who have arranged supply of 2001 Census material through an intermediacy service such as SASPAC need not order directly from ONS, and supply to intermediaries will have a high priority.
The Census Access Project
There is no charge for the DVDs or for access to the Key Statistics on Neighbourhood Statistics. The costs of production have been met through the Census Access project with funding assistance from the project partners - the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, the Department of Health, the National Assembly for Wales, the Local Government Association, and the Economic and Social Research Council.
ONS encourages the widest use of the material on the Website and on the DVDs. Unrestricted use is granted on the acceptance of simple conditions.
