About the animated map
The links on this page allow you to download animated maps illustrating changing life expectancy by local authority over the period 1992 to 2007. There is also a zip file if you wish to save all the files.

Each link will take you to a page containing an animated gif. The animation will start within four seconds. It comprises of images changing every two seconds.

Stopping and starting the map
To stop the animation, press the 'stop' button on your browser. To re-start the animation, press the 'refresh' button on your browser.
