The Living in Britain 2001 website contains information from the General Household Survey (GHS), which has documented major changes in British households, families and society since 1971.

The previous report (The GHS 2000/01 'Living in Britain') was the first major report from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) to be published as a web designed publication.

This website contains the complete contents of the Living in Britain 2001 publication. Its index and keyword glossary enables relevant content to be found quickly. Individual sections, tables and figures can be located and printed in a printer friendly method.

The user also has the choice of downloading the entire publication in PDF format (available early in 2003), or purchase the hard copy through the Stationery Office website.
