Questions specifically designed to cover aspects of the lives of older people have been included in the survey in 1980, 1985, 1991, 1994 and 1998. The module of questions asks people aged 65 and over about their living circumstances, their health, their ability to perform a range of domestic and other tasks, and the use they make of health and social services. The information collected has enabled the GHS to present regular snapshots of older people’s lives and to examine how they have changed over the years. The results are presented in a separate report to be published in 2003.
