The General Household Survey was 30 years old in 2001. To mark this occasion a ‘birthday’ leaflet was produced for respondents telling them about the survey and the policy changes it had affected and asking them to join more than half a million others who had already taken part. The 2001/2 survey was the second year of fieldwork following the introduction of the recommendations of the 1997 review.
