Gender Statistics in Japan and Britain: Focusing on Labour Statistics |
| Abstract |
Gender statistics has been recognised as a tool to promote the gender equality. In this paper, we attempt to compare the development of gender statistics in Britain and Japan, in order to highlight potential obstacles and proposed solutions.
Aims of our paper are to
[1] Outline the gender statistics required by the Beijing platform and compare national plans of gender statistics for Japan and the UK
[2] Consider labour market statistics from the viewpoint of gender statistics
[3] Make some suggestions for further development of gender statistics in the both countries, from an institutional aspect |
