Summary: Population estimates are available at national and subnational level (local authority/health area) by single year of age and sex. These include additional selected age groups and broad components of population change. Estimates reflect the local authority boundaries that were in place on 30 June 2011.

Summary: This release provides census population estimates, of the usually resident population, by single year of age and sex for all local authorities (or equivalent) in the constituent countries of the United Kingdom. In addition, an interactive historic population pyramid (1911 – 2011) will be published. This release will combine data for Scotland with data already published for England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

Summary: Examines how taxes and benefits redistribute income between various groups of households in the UK. The study shows where different types of households and individuals are in the income distribution and looks at the changing levels of income inequality over time.

Summary: Quality-adjusted labour input (QALI) is a measure of labour input to economic production which takes account of the composition of the workforce as well as the volume of hours worked. It provides a broader perspective in assessing productivity performance than other labour measures, which focus only on the quantity of labour input. The results are used in multi-factor productivity analysis.

This release is part of a programme of work within the Measuring National Well-being Programme to develop and update the Household Satellite Account for the UK originally published by the Office for National Statistics in 2002.
