Summary: This report presents information on clients attempting to quit smoking with the help of NHS smoking cessation services, and quit outcomes by calendar year. Prior to May 2010 this publication was released under the title "Smoking Cessation".

Summary: General Dental Service registrations. From the November 2010 release this publication will use new methodology only (patient postcode). It will also provide an analysis of patient participation (contact with a GDS dentist) and registrations by SIMD 2009. Prior to January 2010 this publication was released as part of an overall "Dental Statistics" publication.

Summary: Number and percentage of patients by stage at diagnosis for Breast, Colorectal and Lung cancer by NHS Board of residence, Cancer networks and Scotland. Numbers for the 3-cancers combined for 2010 and 2011 to provide baseline data to support the HEAT Decect Cancer Early (DCE) target.

Summary: The Abortion update contains information on notifications, to the Chief Medical Officer for Scotland, of terminations of pregnancy under the Abortion Act 1967. The release includes numbers and rates for Scotland, NHS Boards and Local Council Areas.

Prior to June 2010 this publication was released as part of an overall "NHSScotland Workforce Statistics" publication. This publication will be released quarterly from June 2011. From December 2011 this publication will be renamed 'NHS Scotland Workforce Statistics'.

Summary: The total number of attendances in the week for all A&E types, including Minor Injury Units and Walk-in Centres, and of these, the number discharged, admitted or transferred within four hours of arrival. Also included are the number of admissions via A&E, and any waits of over four hours for admission following decision to admit. Data are shown at provider organisation level, from NHS Trusts, NHS Foundation Trusts, Primary Care Trusts and Independent Sector Organisations.

The analysis is based on the seven class reduced National Statistics Socio-economic Classification (NS-SEC).
