Summary: This Statistical First Release reports on absence in primary and secondary schools, city technology colleges and academies.

Summary: This SFR provides information about appeals lodged by parents during the academic year against non-admission of their children to their preferred school. It includes all appeals lodged during the academic year across all year groups. Figures are provided at both national and local authority level.

Summary: The survey collects robust information on the key characteristics of childcare and early years provision and the early years workforce across the public, private and voluntary sectors.

Summary: Provides information on the achievements of eligible pupils (typically 7 year olds) in the National Curriculum assessments at Key Stage 1 (KS1).

Summary: This data presents budget / planned expenditure returned to the DfE by Local Authorities as part of their commitments set out in the Apprenticeship, Skills, Children and Learning Act 2009. It covers the budgets LAs plan on spending in the following financial year on a range of school budget and Children's services functions. The main SFR is supported by LA benchmarking tables, LA level detailed returns and release of underlying data.

Summary: Provides information about children looked after by local authorities in England. The figures are based on returns collected from all 150 English local authorities.

Summary: Provides provisional information on the achievements of eligible pupils (typically 11 year olds) in the National Curriculum assessments at Key Stage 2 and 3 (KS2 and KS3). At KS2, assessments are based on tests and teacher assessments. At KS3, there are only teacher assessments as formal tests have been abolished.

Summary: This publication, along with the publication 'Children In Need in England, including their characteristics and further information on children who were the subject of a child protection plan (2011-12 Children in Need census, Final)', will be published as the rationalised publication 'Characteristics of Children in Need in England, 2011-12' in October 2012.

Summary: Under new transparency arrangements, Ofsted are now publishing these data on their website and will be doing so each quarter. Each release will show the latest position at the end of the previous quarter. This therefore negates the need for the Department for Education to continue with this publication. Summary: This publication was due to be issued by the Department in September 2012. However, it will now be released by the Department for Communities and Local Government.
