Also provided is an estimate of the total number of businesses in the UK whole economy. The publication supercedes the BIS 'Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Statistics for the UK and Regions'.

Summary: The indicator is defined as the number of people employed by the private sector, as a proportion of the population aged 16-64 and those over 64 in the labour market. It provides an indication of whether private sector employment is growing to compensate for any decline in public sector employment across English regions. This measure helps to identify whether the economy rebalancing between regions.

Summary: The House Price Index (HPI) is a monthly output based on mortgage completions data from the Regulated Mortgage Survey (RMS). This release contains data on mix-adjusted average house prices and price indices, along with annual rates of change by region, type of buyer and whether a dwelling is new or pre-owned. A seasonally adjusted mix-adjusted house price index and monthly house price change are also included.

Summary: Construction output is a monthly series of the output of the construction industry in both the private and public sectors. In the months before the quarter month, current and constant price not seasonally adjusted data by sector are published. On the quarter months, additional constant price seasonally adjusted index data and value data by sector are published. On the months after the quarter, additional current price data by type of work and region are published.
