Summary: 2011 Census statistics provide a rich source of information about the number, distribution and characteristics of the population in the UK. First results from the census will provide estimates of the population on census day (27 March 2011) for the UK by age and sex and totals for each local authority in the UK.

Summary: A short report comparing three measures of average life span: life expectancy at birth (mean age at death), median age at death and modal age at death.
