Release Calendar

Summary: The production and publication of the House Price Index (HPI) will transfer from DCLG to The Office for National Statistics (ONS), as announced by the National Statistician on 9 December 2011. The ONS will publish the index for the first time on 17 April 2012. Summary: Region and Country Profiles provides a source of essential statistics for the regions of England and the constituent countries of the UK (Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). Social Indicators tables provide a wide range of Social statistics to compare the countries, regions and local authority areas. A summary for each English region provides key facts and figures about people, lives and lifestyles in the area.

This release consists of the Key Statistics tables which provide the most useful demographic, social and economic statistics to compare the countries and regions.

Summary: This report reviews: What is subjective wellbeing and why should we measure it? How subjective wellbeing is currently measured in the UK - what subjective wellbeing questions are already being asked on major social surveys in the UK The potential uses of subjective wellbeing data collected via these surveys It concludes that subjective wellbeing is a valid construct that can be measured reliably. This is the first output of ONS' work on subjective wellbeing.

Summary: Presents monthly results on the number of overseas visitors to the UK, UK residents visits abroad, earnings from overseas visits, expenditure of UK residents going abroad.

Summary: This report details various aspects of the supply side of tourism. It includes a national level analysis of Gross Value Added (GVA), turnover and employment in the defined set of tourism industries. It also includes an estimate of employment in tourism industries for the regions and nations of the UK. The set of tourism industries used is based on international recommendations.

Summary: Secondary analysis to calculate productivity of the food chain using already published National Statistcs. Current price estimates of turnover, purchases and labour are deflated using price indices to get volume indices. Consumption of fixed capital volume series are obtained directly. Indices are combined to get an index of output and an index of inputs for food retail, food manufacture, food wholesale and non-residential catering. These combine to give indices for the whole food chain.
