Title: End of custody licence releases and recalls - April 2010

Summary: IMPORTANT NOTE On 22 February 2010, the Secretary of State for Justice and Lord Chancellor announced that the ECL scheme would end on 12 March 2010. All prisoners who were eligible for release on ECL on or before 12 March have been released. Prisoners who had, by 22 February, been formally notified, under form ECL3, of release dates under the scheme up to and including 9 April, would also be released. No prisoners will be released on ECL from and including 10 April. The report to be published at the end of April will include releases for March and up to and including 9 April, and recalls notified to NOMS by 26 April 2010. This will be the last monthly report. A set of final tables on the scheme will be published in Offender Management Caseload Statistics in July 2010. This will include any recall notifications that occurred after 26 April.
