Summary: This note and the associated tables have been produced on the request of Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) for use by interested parties to assist in analysing and understanding foreign ownership of businesses in the UK and sub-nationally. The information will assist those developing inward investment strategic policies, giving an overview of subnational and regional differences. The tables provide a high level summary of foreign ownership activity in English regions and constituent countries of the UK – equivalent to NUTS 1 areas.

Summary: Presents period life expectancy at birth and at age 65 by sex for health areas in the United Kingdom.

Summary: Mid 2010 population estimates are available at national level by single year of age and sex and subnationally (local authority/health area) by five year age group and sex. These include additional selected age groups and broad components of population change. The Population Estimates reflect the local authority administrative boundaries that were in place on 30 June of the reference year of the tables.

Summary: This presents cancer survival for adult patients (aged 15-99) resident in the 88 (now 62 following NHS reconfiguration in 2006) 'Spearhead' primary care trusts (PCT) in England, compared with those resident in the rest of England.

Summary: Population estimates for Primary Care Organisations in England by age and sex. The estimated resident population of an area includes all people who usually live there, whatever their nationality. Members of UK and non-UK armed forces stationed in the UK are included in their respective Countries and UK forces stationed outside the UK are excluded. Students are taken to be resident at their term time address.

Summary: Shows mid-year population estimates for National Parks. The methodology used to produce the National Park estimates differs to the method used to produce the local authority mid-year estimates, and is subject to further review. In view of this ongoing work, these National Park estimates are published as 'experimental statistics', and are under evaluation. Feedback on these estimates is therefore welcomed.

Summary: This presents an index for all cancers combined for primary care trusts in England

Summary: Subnational population projections use past trends to project forward the population to give an indication of the future population for 25 years from the base year. Available for local authorities and Primary Care Organisations.

Summary: Estimates of health expectancy by administrative greography and area-based measures of deprivation, using a number of data sources including the census, national surveys, population estimates and death registrations over a range of time periods. These estimates are used to detect geographical inequalities in health expectancy and inequalities between relatively advantaged and disadvantaged populations, which support policy development and monitoring of ineqaulities over time.

Summary: The National Bereavement Survey (VOICES) is conducted by the Office for National Statistics on behalf of the Department of Health. The aims of the survey are to assess the quality of care delivered in the last three months of life for adults who died in England and to assess variations in the quality of care delivered in different parts of the country and to different groups of patients.
