We tested the sensitivity of the value of the output of adult care to:

• using the mean number of hours per frequency to estimate the length of episodes of care - this increases the total value by 26 per cent in 2000;
• using nursing home fees to value continuous care - this increases the total value by 25 per cent in 2000.
