NUTRITION

  Sensitivity

We tested the sensitivity of the value of the output of nutrition to:

  • assuming different prices for meals for children (under 10) - increasing the price of child meals to 75 per cent of the cost of an adult meal increases the total value by 2.3 per cent and increasing the price to 100 per cent of the cost of an adult meal increases the total value by 4.6 per cent in 2000;
  • using alternative average prices - using average prices based on all food outlets, including those which are subsidised, such as works canteens etc., reduces the total value by 26 per cent in 2000.
