NUTRITION

  Volume

The volume of nutrition output is measured in number of meals and hot drinks, differentiated by type, number of courses and whether eaten by adults or children (under 10). The source of information for this estimate is Taylor Nelson Sofres Family Food Panel market research data. Respondents to this survey report on all food ingredients and drinks consumed during a two-week period. The survey is a quota sample of households in Great Britain, and the survey estimates have been grossed to the UK population using data derived from the Labour Force Survey, which exclude people living in institutions.

For further details see Chapter 4 of the HHSA Methodology (downloads).

See Value for prices and value estimates.
