Ward History Database
The Ward History Database provides a history of electoral wards/divisions in England and Wales since Census Day 1991. The product is released annually and includes information up to the end of December.
The database provides annual ward/division lists for England and Wales displayed at a variety of geographic levels. It enables the user to relate end of year wards/divisions to the wards/divisions as at the 1991 Census and, for wards/divisions post 2001, to the wards/divisions as at the 2001 Census.
Other features include: a search facility (by name or code) which can trace the post-1991 history of a ward/division; annual lists of wards/divisions affected by physical/non-physical changes (where non-physical changes are changes to names, codes or other structural changes, but where area boundaries remain the same); and details of the Statutory Instrument applicable to each change.
