Area Names & Codes Files

ONS Geography maintains files of definitive area names and codes for a wide range of geographies used in statistical production. The files available below are in MS Excel (.xls) format, together with metadata, but if you would prefer a text (.txt) format version, without the metadata, then please contact us. If you do not already have Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Excel Viewer on your computer, Microsoft Excel Viewer can be downloaded
