Postal Geography

The number of unit postcodes in the UK is very large (about 1.7 million). If you simply wish to trace a postcode for a given address, or an address for a given postcode, a postcode/address locator is available on the Royal Mail website. If you require more detailed information relating postcode areas to other geographies (administrative, health etc), ONS Geography produces the 'National Statistics Postcode Directory'. Follow this link to view this and other related postcode products.

Please note more information can be found on the UK postal geography web page.
