ONS Geography Advisory Group (GAG)
The ONS Geography Advisory Group (GAG) was established in October 2003 to help develop and maintain the strategic direction for geography in ONS and National Statistics, and to address any issues arising in statistical geography. It consists of a number of academics and professionals with wide geography experience, and meets approximately every 6 months.
The GAG does not have a decision-making role but acts as an independent 'think-tank', drawing on the expertise of its members from both inside and outside of government. The aim is to ensure that ONS and the wider National Statistics use geographies, techniques and methods that reflect the changing face of society and the growing demands of users.
