Eurostat has published datasets on nearly 300 cities across the EU that have been collected as part of the third Urban Audit project.
Urban Audit III builds on data collected for previous collections, with a greater number of cities covered, and more variables obtained, this time for 2004.
The Office for National Statistics has collected data on 30 cities in the United Kingdom, which include complete coverage of all cities with a population greater than 250,000 people.
Over 250 variables are covered for UK cities, including Demography, the Environment, Transport and Culture and Recreation. Data is also available for areas known as Larger Urban Zones. These are an attempt to measure the impact that a city has on the surrounding towns and local authorities, similar to 'Functional Urban Regions'.
