Today sees the launch of a new set of Travel to Work Areas (TTWAs), based on 2001 Census data. These supersede the previous TTWAs based on the 1991 Census.
TTWAs are designed to reflect approximate labour market areas - zones in which people both live and work. This makes them useful in labour market analysis and planning.
