Eleventh GSS Methodology Conference
Statistics for Funding Allocation

The event was designed to bring together people working on methodological developments and applications from around the GSS, to share experiences and provide a forum for learning about different methods and techniques. This year's conference theme was statistics for funding allocation, introduced with a clear overview of the main issues by the first keynote speaker, Allen Schirm. Professor David Hand gave an interesting and entertaining speech on the subject of measurement, and Jil Matheson gave the final speech of the conference, sharing her insights on 'Social Statistics Beyond 2011 and the Census'.

The conference included parallel sessions covering a range of subjects, some sessions relating to the conference theme and others to methodology in official statistics more generally.
