Conditions of supply of 2001 Census Output Area Boundaries
The Census Output Area Boundaries^[1] are Crown copyright and are subject to the following conditions.

There is no restriction on the use of the material except that:

• a click-use or distribution licence ^[2] must be obtained for re-use and publication ^[3];
• an end-user licence issued under a click-use licence or distribution licence must contain these terms and conditions;
• copyright and source must be acknowledged ^[4] on publication;
• all 2001 Census statistics incorporate measures to protect against the inadvertent disclosure of information relating specifically to an identified person or household. The material shall not be used to attempt to derive information relating specifically to an identified person or household, nor shall a claim be made that such information has been obtained or derived;
• the Output Area (OA) boundaries included here are in part derived from OS information, and some OA boundaries which follow ward or parish boundaries reproduce parts of the OS BoundaryLine product. Consequently IPR in the Output Area (OA) boundaries lies jointly with ONS and OS. The use of the OS material reproduced in the OA boundaries is covered by the terms of the Ordnance Survey "Standard Licensed Use" included here.^[5]

The Office for National Statistics uses anti-virus software to safeguard against any viruses being included in the original material, but does not accept liability for any loss or damage arising from any virus which may be present in the material.

1. The rights in material drawn from the Output Area Boundaries remains the property of the Crown.
2. Click-use licences are available free from Her Majesty's Stationery Office (HMSO), and more information or a licence may be obtained from the HMSO Website or by contacting HMSO, The Licensing Division, St Clements House, 2-16 Colegate, Norwich NR3 1BQ or telephone 01603 621000.
   
   Distribution licences are available free from Census Customer Services, ONS, Segensworth Road, Titchfield, Fareham, Hampshire, PO15 5RR, telephone 001329 444972 or email census.licensing@ons.gov.uk and, in addition to covering re-use and publication, authorise the licence holder to sub-licence third parties to re-use and publish Census material.
3. Re-use includes reproducing the products in a wide variety of ways including, but not limited to, photocopying for research or private study, and copying by libraries. It also includes making the products and any material derived from the products available on an electronic network or an intranet. Publishing includes issuing copies (either in whole or in part) or making the products or any material derived from the products available to third parties.
4. Copyright and source must be acknowledged prominently by the words

5. The OS license included with these conditions of supply is the final version. Before you make any use of this data, you must carefully read the terms and conditions of this licence. By accessing the data you will be deemed to be bound by its terms. If you do not wish to be bound then you must return the data to us.

The Office for National Statistics reserve its rights in all circumstances, and Census Customer Services should be contacted where there is any doubt about the interpretation of these conditions.
