It contains Key Statistics tables for parishes and communities with at least 100 residents and 40 households, in line with the confidentiality thresholds for other local statistics. Where possible, small parishes have been amalgamated with other areas to produce populations sufficiently large for the release of Key Statistics for amalgamated areas as a whole. This quite complex process and outcome is described in the report.
To meet the demand for information for the many smaller rural communities, simpler profiles are also included for all areas with at least 50 residents and 20 households.
Counts of residents, males, females, and households are included for all areas.
The report, which was laid before parliament, consists of a printed introduction accompanied by a CD containing software to view and manipulate electronic versions of the tables with data in counts or percentages.
The profiles and Key Statistics are also available online through the Neighbourhood Statistics Service (NeSS) website.
