The printed report, which was laid before Parliament, provides a Census picture of these areas, with consistent and comparable facts about the characteristics of the populations served in each area, and figures which underpin information collected in the Health Service itself.
It contains the Key Statistics tables which provide contain data mainly in percentages with appropriate denominators. The CD accompanying the report contains software to view and manipulate electronic versions of the tables with data as counts, and also includes the Key Statistics for wards as at 31 December 2002.
These and the health area figures are also available through the Neighbourhood Statistics Service (NeSS) website.
The Key Statistics tables
The Key Statistics dataset consists of a series of 33 tables which provide a summary of the complete results of the Census. They are designed to enable easy comparison between areas across the full range of Census variables.

Some errors in the geographical constitutions used to produce the Key Statistics for health areas were found after the first publication of the report. Details of these errors can be found in the errata, errors and corrections. The report and supplementary CD were corrected and a revised version was published on 09 December 2003, and distributed to the purchasers of the original versions.
Table 'KS24 Migration' was also included in this revised version of the report - the table was not available at the time the original report was produced.
