Customers are advised to check that their needs are not met by either the standard results or previously commissioned tables. Detailed lists are available in the standard output table finder and the commissioned output table finder (both excel files), viewable using the links in the supporting information section. Summary lists of the most recently produced commissioned tables, viewable using the other information link, may also help.
Customers are asked to specify their exact requirements on the commissioned output order form available as a pdf file using the link in the further infromation section. Orders will be accepted only on receipt of a completed order form. There are instructions on the bottom of the form providing details of how to complete and return a form via e-mail or fax. All orders will be acknowledged by return email or fax.
Prioritisation of requests
The large backlog of requests for commissioned Census data that built up in 2004 and 2005 has now been cleared. Turn around times for an average request will now be within the order of one month. Should a large number of requests be received at the same time priority will be given to the requests based on the following criteria :
where the request is from and what it will be used for - there is scale of priority with highest priority being given to requests from (or on behalf of) Government departments or agencies where the data will be used for the distribution of public funds. Requests to recast data which has already been released will receive a low priority.
when the data is needed by - requests prioritised by (1) will be further prioritised by the urgency of the request.
when the request was received - requests prioritised by (1) and (2) will be further prioritised by date of receipt, with those requests that have been waiting longest being given priority.
Priorities are regularly monitored.
UK Output
Commissioned Output for Scotland or Northern Ireland should be requested from the GROS or NISRA respectively. Output for the UK can be requested from any of the three Census organisations, which where possible will arrange for the production of the output by each organisation. Charges for such output will be consistent with each organisation's charging policy.
A click-use or distribution licence is required for re-use or publication. More information on this is available in the conditions of supply for commissioned output or by contacting census.licensing@ons.gov.uk.
