The Report on the Welsh language completes a series of Census bilingual reports covering the first results on population for Wales, Key Statistics for local authorities in Wales, and Key Statistics for constituencies of the National Assembly for Wales.
The Office for National Statistics has also published 'Focus on Wales: its people' on the web which includes summary information from a number of sources. It is one of a series of reports extending and complementing the results of the Census which have had the working title of 'multi source topic reports' [more details...].
A paper comparing sources of information on Welsh language skills has also been issued by the ONS Ethnicity and Identity Branch. The paper compares the data on Welsh language skills collected in the 2001 Census with those collected in the Welsh Local Labour Force Survey (WLLFS). The aim is to establish the level of differences between these two sources, and to give possible explanations. The paper is available in both English and Welsh, both as pdf files.
