ONS is reviewing a potential risk that information about individual workplaces could be disclosed through Census tables on workplace populations. It is also taking longer than planned to produce tables about out migrants due to technical problems affecting SuperCROSS tables. This means that remaining releases of Census results for England and Wales, most of which were expected to contain workplace and out migrant tables, cannot go ahead as scheduled.
ONS is fully aware for the need for timely availability of Census results, and the review will be carried out as quickly as possible. We expect to resolve the technical out migrant issue shortly but the workplace disclosure risk review may take longer. With this in mind, the Office intends to consult with key users on options for the future timetable, such as whether to release other output in advance of the workplace tables becoming available. In the meantime the schedule for the remaining Census output is being withdrawn.
A revised schedule will be published as soon as possible, but it is not possible to anticipate that products will be released with the content as currently specified or in the order of the previous schedule.
