Electronic versions
Output will become available on free-standing electronic media in bulk directly from ONS as well as being accessible via the National Statistics Website. Datasets from the standard area statistics will be despatched from Census Customer Services on the day of release on CD or DVD in a variety of software formats: Excel; CSV; and Supertable. Software for viewing and manipulation will be included in some versions. In addition, licensed intermediaries may package the statistics, without charge for the statistics, but with software as an added value service.
Census users are asked to specify their exact requirements on the Order Form HERE which also appears in the Census Output Prospectus. Orders will be accepted only on receipt of a completed order form. Please note the instructions on the bottom of the form providing details of how to complete and return a form via e-mail or fax. All orders will be acknowledged by email or fax.
Requests for datasets described in the Output Prospectus but not yet specified on the order form may be sent in to Census Customer Services.
Conditions of supply are built into the front-end software which prompts users to accept the terms prior to granting access to data on CD or DVD when supplied. More details are available in the Census Output Prospectus.
These arrangements apply to the supply of output for England and Wales. Requests for output for Scotland and Northern Ireland should be made to the General Register Office Scotland (GROS) or to the Northern Ireland Statistical and Research Agency (NISRA).
Charges
There will be no charge for output from our Website. However, it may be necessary to recover material costs of supply on other media where these become substantial. Customers will be notified of any charge in advance of supply.
Customised Output:
Orders for customised output or preliminary enquiries may be made at any time. Charges will be recovered in terms of staff and material costs with a minimum charge of £150 + VAT. Copies of commissioned output will be made available at material costs to comply with Census legislation. Consortia commissions and cost sharing will be encouraged.
