The new Census pages enable readers, especially newcomers, to identify the datasets they need and where those datasets can be found. Many have used the new "Get Facts" page, and January saw nearly 10,000 visits to the new pages that describe our products and provide links to the services that deliver them.
The new pages concentrate on providing supporting information as most of the detailed counts are now available through the Neighbourhood Statistics and Nomis websites. Summary data continues to be available on the Census pages, and regular users were reassured to find the local authority profiles and rankings had been retained. These have been moved from the old 2001 Census homepage to Quick Pictures. This page can be found by navigating from the 2001 Census homepage; choosing Get Facts from the Census and clicking on "Quick Pictures". The new section brings together the summary datasets that were previously available in different parts of the website.
The site continues to be improved in response to customer feedback, and we welcome your further comments. Please email us at Census Customer Services with your views.
