The main planned output of the 2001 Census is now complete, and the emphasis of Census News is changing.
The 2001 Census website is being redesigned to serve users in the intercensal period, including a definitive Output Prospectus now released as a first step, and developments will be covered in Census News. The content of the archive of Census News articles running back to March 2002, together with PDFs back to 1998, will also be made more accessible. There will be more information about the services to provide specially commissioned output, and there will be a regular summary of existing commissioned output available as copies on request from any user.
There will also be more news on the plans for a Census in 2011, on continuing consultations, and on other opportunities for users to make contributions.
Readers' views on the current Census website and on the information being provided about the Census would be welcome, and should be sent to the editor via Census Customer Services.
