Census Customer Services provide expert advice about the 2011, 2001, and earlier censuses.

Services available

Identify census products available in print, CD, DVD, and on the web, and supply CDs and DVDs where possible
Provide guidance on accessing data using the National Statistics web services
Advise on definitions of census terms
Advise on the most suitable figures for particular applications
Give guidance on the terms and conditions for the use of census data
Supply simple extracts of figures from the 2001 Census and earlier censuses
Create simple rankings and counts for customer-specified areas
Supply printed maps of Output Areas (OAs)
To be the first point of contact for technical problems relating to the use of census data supplied by the Office for National Statistics (ONS)
Can arrange for specialist advice to be provided
Take orders for commissioned output

Standards and practices
Requests for output are met by email if possible, but many products are supplied on CD or DVD, and a postal address together with a telephone or fax number should always be provided.

Practice complies with the National Statistics protocol on Customer Services, and a more detailed set of standards specific to census services.
