Output of the Service sector decreased by 0.1 per cent in the three months to August compared with the three months to May. Two of the five components of the Service sector decreased. There were decreases in Hotels and restaurants and Business services and finance.

Business services and finance output decreased by 0.3 per cent in the three months to August. The most significant decrease was in Other business services
Government and other services output rose by 0.2 per cent in the three months to August. The most significant increase was in Health and social work
Output from the Service sector fell by 0.3 per cent between July and August. The most significant decrease was in Distribution.
