Residential property transactions fall to 52,000 in November 2008

• There was an increase in the number of owner-occupied dwellings in the UK every year between 1981 and 2006, but between 2006 and 2007 there was a small decrease. (Figure 10.4)
• In 2007, 63 per cent of lone parent households with dependent children in Great Britain lived in rented property, compared with 19 per cent of couple households with dependent children. (Table 10.5)
