MMR immunisation rate remains below its peak
Completed primary immunisation courses at 2 years of age, UK
• In 2006/07, 86 per cent of children in the UK were immunised against measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) by their second birthday. The peak was 90 per cent in 1991/92. (Figure 7.6)
• In 1974 in Great Britain, 51 per cent of all men aged 16 and over and 41 per cent of women were smokers. By 2007, this had fallen to 22 per cent of men and 20 per cent of women. (Figure 7.10)

• The number of prescriptions dispensed for anti-depressants in England was nearly four times higher in 2007 than in 1991, rising from 9 million to 34 million. (Figure 7.14)
• An increasing proportion of children in England were classified as either overweight or obese in 2007, 31 per cent of boys aged two to 15 and 30 per cent of girls. (Figure 7.16)
• In the UK the most common sexually transmitted infection in both sexes in 2007 was chlamydia, at 204.7 diagnosed cases per 100,000 men and 198.1 per 100,000 women. (Figure 7.20) Latest information on Sexual Health
